Growing up as a youth in the ''Sixties'', hanging out at an Italian Cafe meant as much to us as McDonald's to youth of later times. However, in Bridgend of this period, there existed our little ''Exotic Quarter'' complete with a Chinese Laundry and take away, and not least Contis Italian Cafe, next door but out of the photo below was The Ship Public House. Both the Cafe and the Pub were centres for our patriotic political discussions and debates, whilst the Cinema Picture house close bye was a place to catch up on the movies. Sadly, all now gone, pulled down or boarded up but not forgotten, not by me anyway, so I am only to happy to draw your attention to the Arandora appeal, please give genorously. Plus have opportunity to pay tribute to Bridgend's ''Sixties'' Revolutionary Centre.

A £30.000 donation from the ''Sick Senedd'', a well timed offering during Eisteddfod Week, no I do not think it is a sop to sentimental 'Crachach Newydd' cultural nationalism, nor do I think it's an appeasement of the 'Cultural Right' to keep them on board good ship 'Coalition Conspiracy', nor an attempt to buy some votes for the soon to be Carwyn led Welsh Labour Party. Nope, I think it's one big blatant pay off to 'Y Crachach Newydd' for staying stwm! over the Investiture issue, so much forgotten by this 'Cultural Right' crowd of nationalist renegades now living in easy street after getting fat dipping into the 'Language Lunch Box.

If that sum of £30.ooo might not be an huge sum, and it's expected that Patriots raise the rest, up to some £80.000, are they serious? How much is the land owner getting out of all this? The Anuerin Bevan statue in Cardiff only cost £20.000. and are patriots not forgetting that John Meirion Jones, has been trying to raise money for a number of years for a splendid sculpture to symbolise the drowning of Cwm Celyn. Would not the money be better sent there? But, I guess as far as the WAGgers are concerned it's better to have a provocative memorial a ''million miles'' away from the scene of the deed of exploitation.

Whatever! lets get a bit revisionist here, and put things in a clear perspective, Cwm Celyn is a symbol of defeat, apart from Owain Williams, Emyr Llywelyn and the boys from Gwent and others Plaid Cymru took the pacifist road, not even considering occupying the village, why? maybe something to do with compensation? Yes! the valley was lost under water, as countless acres has been lost to the Army and Forestry Commission and now Windmill Plantations. But I suggest to you, that the money be better spent elsewhere, as for example on a LAND & LIBERTY CAMPAIGN to combat Cheque Book Conquest.

Somewhat ironically, the Western Mail after reporting the above re the memorial fund, the next day reported on a survey done of youth on the Eisteddfod field and found there to be no real interest in Treweryn, all just history now, can you blame the kids for not showing much interest or understanding that the exploitation of our land continues. But, lets face facts it's all been part of the great 'Crachach Newydd' myth making of a Welsh History in their image, as recent nonsense at NLW re that Investiture - Eisteddfod protest. Lets face facts, Wales did not suffer a Potato Famine as Ireland did or an 'Highland Clearance' as the Scots did. However, we did suffer an Aberfan and countless ''Aberfans'' in our Coal mines, the road backwards from Aberfan covers an history of 1000's of brutal deaths, and also the stealth death of tuberculosis, consumption and disease as Cholera. The Industrial History of Wales is more than just a few drowned valleys but rivers and rivers of blood, so lets get things into perspective.

That is not to say, the drowning of Cwm Celyn is not important, but remember it was the heroism of Owain Williams and others that have made sure that an English City will never again attempt to drown a Welsh Valley. Not some student painting a slogan as the sum total of his so called ''Revolution Years'', oh yes! he wrote a few rebel songs, he would now rather not be reminded of. But he's hardly a ''Victim of the Sixties'' , he's just another Fat Cat with sticky fingers in the Cultural Nationalist Sweet Shop. These, Y Crachach Newydd would do well to remember, that they have failed Wales and the struggle, as the language continues to decline, Rural Valleys depopulate, and we become a failed impoverished nation ruled by a ''Sick Senedd'' of corrupt politicians bankrupt of ideas as what to do.

This in mind Y Crachach Newydd clapping their hands over the futile gesture of a crumbling wall being saved for posterity whilst the nation dies, will do well to remember what the young Kurdish people of HALABJA did to the memorial to the 1988 massacre - they destroyed it, as to why? I suggest patriots google the web for the HALABJA MEMORIAL PROTEST. Possibly considering their own radical protests when the WAG Political Phonies unveil their 'Cofia Tryweryn' wall.

THE ENGLISH ARE COMING BUT DO NOT MENTION THE 'M' WORD, not yet anyway?

It's worse than you can begin to imagine, now the English will find it too expensive to settle on the Continent or further afield, as their own backyard just become too heavy with social breakdown and crime etc, etc. Where do you thing they are going to come in their droves, and have been for a number of years, the Arson War of Meibion Glyndwr (MAC II) did little to halt the westward expansionism of SAISLEBSENRAUM.

Indeed Cardiff encourages it, with a surplus housing stock, this City and Newport also Swansea to a similar extent. For with also major building of shopping centres as in Cardiff but with a economic collapse and brain drain of the young educated classes plus an aging population these three Southern Cities require 100's if not 1000's of 'Sais Settlers', and the more well heeled the better. Why else the bringing of BBC Jobs from Bristol and elsewhere in England to Cardiff, why else Cardiff seeking to bring huge sporting events to the City, and whilst the men are watching the sports, their wives are shopping and checking out property prices.

You got to be really D, D & S if you do not really understand what is going on, wake up! Cardiff is keener to be a Euro Empire City State with the Valleys as in 'Internal Colony'. As for being Capital of Wales, that's just a charade, and is useful for only as long as it is economically so, and as a bit of a bullshitting international status platform but really Cardiff could swing anyway, and will!

Now there is no point in being 'Racist' about all this, it works both ways, for 1000's of Welsh, England and further afield is the land of opportunity, and England is accepting of Welsh people fleeing a quickly impoverishing Wales. Further, accept fact that we are living in an age of a vast world 'Tribal Movement' akin to what occurred in Northern Europe with decline of the Roman Empire, is History repeating itself? It's not too difficult to forecast that large areas of Cymru/Wales will become English Colonies, as Central Wales will fast become a kind of 'Sais Kossovo'. At present in Fflintshire, the 'WAGgers' are practically handing it over to Chesire, hence setting up of the Peoples Council in the North Eastern March to campaign against such a sell out.

So what's to do? Forget the 'M' Word, and for a change lets focus on the opposite, a campaign against depopulation, and this needs to be about Jobs, Homes and the opportunity of a good, content and Happy life with a bright future to look forward to, especially for the young. However, this is an all Cymru/Wales issue, not just a matter of rural concern, on the whole it is about the economy stupid! Other than that we need a MOVEMENT AGAINST COLONIALISM - yes! MAC III but this time a Socio - Economic - Political Campaigning organisation not a secret militant society. On an all Cymru/Wales basis too, this North Eastern Peoples Council have the beginnings of what is needed, are a template to follow, in great haste in central Cymru and Eastern Gwent, also Pembs. As for rural West & North West Llais Gwynedd needs to become Llais Pura Wallia to present a united Cymric Front behind the bastion of the Cambrian Mountains in the lands of Mbini Cenedda - 'Tiroedd Cunedda'.

WHO ARE WE? WEST BRITONS, CYMRU, WELSH or something in between, like BRIT!

Some years ago when the recent Irish Troubles got started in British Occupied Ireland aka Ulster aka Northern Ireland, the Irish Communist Organisation came out with the 'Two Nations - Two Peoples' theory. To all extent and purpose this stated that as most 'Ulster Prots' were Scottish Settlers they were in effect only returning to, from whence they came, and thus both they and the Gaels could both have claim to this northern territory of the six Counties of nine, that once was the Irish Province of Ireland

You will see from above letters to Western Mail recently, the Cymry/Welsh have been at it again arguing whom may be regarded as 'proper' Cymry/Welsh. Personally, I fancy I am more of Iberian roots rather than Celtic, but am I Welsh or Cymry? Well I do not entirely agree that one must be a native Speaker to be of the Cymry/Welsh, I consider the French Revolutionary Citizen model is the correct way to decide a nationality if one sees Cymru/Wales as a Democratic Nation State.

It would be neat if we could say there were two peoples and two nations that make up our present Cymru/Wales, maybe pobl Pura Wallia aka Cymry of the Cunedda tribes from North Britain who settled the land behind the Cambrian Mountains aka 'Tiroedd Cunedda' and then Pobl Marcher Wallia of what's left. These peoples perhaps not so homogeneous as Pobl Puru Wallia, over the centuries having become of mixed stock as indeed most people of the Southern Valleys are. Although of all regions of Cymru/Wales, they now hold the record for, of their population the most being native born, 90%. even more so than native speaking Gwynedd and other regions of Pura Wallia.

Myself, I think it works like this, we may all be citizens, and there will always be 'Brits', but at least we have moved away from the 'West Briton' identity. However, whatever? maybe other than this, what if 'Y Cymry' are those who are native born speakers, or have learnt the language and buy into all things 'Cymric'. Whilst the rest of us are 'Welsh' aka ''Roman Like'' and thus a tad ''Internationalised'', and do not buy into all things 'Cymric' as myself, I despite being a Welsh Patriot would more regard myself of the 'Welsh' rather than 'Y Cymry'. Even in the ''Sixties'' the music background of my ''revolution'' was Motown and not Canu Cymraeg!

But still better, if it had been said before 1st July, as well a call for mass mobilisation of Bards Against British Royalty, refuting their claimed Sovereignty over Wales and of course against Investitures. Backed up with appeal for a Bardic Flash Mob of Caernarfon Castle on this awful black day in our history. However, it's never too late for a mighty stroke of Patriotic fanaticism to hit a Bard in the Brain, to spark up some real fiery words, as lets forget the poetry and the petitions and get down to some really radical protesting. Indeed by 2011, if the BAB's get busy by 2011 they could possibly repeat the below 'sacrifice' on the Dais of Domination inside Caernarfon Castle. Undoing the shame of Overton where in 1284, rather than 500 Welsh Bards dieing for the Cymric Cause, 1000 Welsh Bards could not grovel to Edward I quick enough to ensure they were kept in crumbs from the conquerors table.

Myself in these times of 'Credit Crunch' I don't think it is really correct for Poets to get grants. However, must congratulate our ''Barrio Warriors'' of BALCHDER CYMRU who did have patriotic commitment and courage to make a stand at the Gate of Caernarfon Castle on 1st July 2009.

I suggest to they to stand down now, and like me not bother with this Gwynedd business again, its their Prince we've been worrying about with all the harping on about 1282. Over the past months I have laboured in blogs and in mailings attempting to get Patriots, particularly so called ''Welsh Republicans'' to seize opportunity of Occasion to publicly declare in no uncertain terms that Wales does not want another English Prince of Wales. However, most it seems prefer to sign petitions and parade about at Cilmeri and in Caerdydd on Dydd Dewi rather than go anywhere near radically protesting. Pathetic Yes!

Of course as I pointed out there was no sign of newly elected Gorsedd member and new mate for the Lord Protector, I am talking of course of Henry Jones Davies, founder of Cambria Magazine. No doubt HJD was initiator of the pathetic 'on line' passive petition against another Investiture of an English Prince of Wales. Bullshit! of course like previous Cambria petitions this is all just a ploy to get more subscribers for Cambria Magazine. Whatever, when push comes to shove or has they used to say in the ''Sixties'', the first sniff of trouble and more than one so called Welsh Patriot will crap out! I guess 'Cambrianistas' can be counted amongst the ''Cymric Crappers' along with 'Y Crachach Newydd', a number of whom with some 'Celebs Cymru' were invited to arise to occasion but chose not to do so. Wonder why? something to do with 'Saxon Shillings' I guess correctly.

Oh well perhaps they may sum up some courage, conviction and real patriotic commitment to go into action by 2011 - 100th Anniversary of the 1911 Investiture (go for a Carlo 'Lookalike' Carnival, see Pwca Power blog, and start planning asap) , or by 2014 - 45th Anniversary of the 1969 Investiture, or 2019 - 50th Anniversary of the 1969 Investiture. However, who knows Wales might just get a real Investiture of William Wales - your next English Princes of Wales to be invested in Caernarfon. This is for sure guaranteed now that Patriots for the most part have shown an element of 'National Cowardice' when push comes to shove - WALES IS A PUSH OVER!

Next time around don't expect me to be out in front, or even in the vanguard of Patriotic Protest, and my advice to BALCHDER CYMRU is to give it a miss too! Thus, next time around if any of the 'laxitave legion' are up for organising protest rather than slavish petitioning, don't call me and don't expect me to call you ok! For the life of me how did I expect Welsh Patriots to massively mobilise on the streets of Caernarfon on 1st July 2009 when they cannot even get onto the streets marching for Welsh Independence. Really, I can only perceive the so called Welsh National Struggle to have become not just ineptly passive but bloody down right boring to say the least. If the annual Rali Cilmeri and Dewi Day Parade in Cardiff is the ultimate expression of Welsh Nationalist Struggle, God Help! and thus really is.......

On the whole over coming years up to 2011 I shall be focusing more time over on my RED REMEMBRANCER blog, and working how best to be involved with informing on, and active in commemorations of the Tonpandy Riots 1910 and Llanelli Riots 1911. This year is already witnessing anniversaries connected with Alexander Cordell - 50th Anniversary of publishing of Rape of the Fair Country, also a number of Chartist Commemorations are already underway and will continue into next year. A final Nationalist foot note: today is the first of August - 725th Anniversary of Edward I holding his 1282 - 84 Conquest of Gwynedd party in Edward's Field, Nefyn. I had suggested 'Gwladgarwyr Gwynedd' hold a Baner Llywelyn III rising ceremony atop Garn Boduon to symbolise 'Yma o Hyd'. Today would have been the preferable day to do this, but I guess through Awst 2009 will be alright. I shall try to do it with my 1831 Merthyr Rising flag sometime later in the month whilst others might wish to do it with White Eagle or Welsh Republican Flags or Baneri Glyndwr. Which ever, you prefer but note I would be interested in copies of fotos of your flag raising please, diolch!
