That's me having my photo taken in Dublin, would be about 1970-2 when this photo was taken, had left Wales late 1969. After doing my time in prison for organising and carrying out campaign against 'Carlo' the English Pretender Prince of Wales (see FWA Trial 1969 in AWNM&S Hist Archive Blog http://awnms.blogspot.com/ ), I took a trip to Ireland and looking through an Evening paper I noticed some employment opportunities. To cut a long story short, got myself a job as a Grill Chef in the Green Rooster on O'Connoll Street, eventually found myself accomodation, moved wife and two children over to Dublin. So began a wonderfull two years living and working in Dublin where in time my third daughters was born. Of course there is a lot more to my ''Dublin Days'' than this mentioned here, these were stirring times with the fueding between the two SF/IRA factions plus the armed struggle taking off in the North. Much to write about regards all this and not least on ''Left Activism'' in Dublin and my conversion to Socialism as had been advocated by Irish Revolutionary James Connolly. During my time in Dublin, I was also fortunate to work along side some wonderfull Irish working people in two Restaurant jobs, the other being as a Grill Chef in the Golden Spoon on Grafton Street. It was all going great, then the Welsh SB sent ''My File'' to the Irish SB who soon visited me and warned me to stay out of Irish Politics, which I did as it was a case of ''Or Else?''. I had been a little involved in a small way in Irish Republican Politics but with the violent split taking shape in SF/IRA, it made it impossible to stay in these circles when I knew good patriots on both sides of the political gulf widening quickly. In main I more moved in ''Left Circles'', and helped a little with Anti - Aparthied Protests against visiting South African Rugby Tour, it is whilst Rugby and Saints are on my mind that I have been prompted to writte this.

As for the Saints matter, well it makes me consider again the making of St David's Day a National Holiday, for the two years I worked in Ireland, for one of them on O'Connoll Street, did I see the Saint Patricks Day parade, no! Why? because I was working untill I was ready to drop betime the evening came around. All I seen was the huge crowds gathering on O'Connoll Street to see the Parade, 1000's. Then when the Parade ended, those same 1000's were like an human Tsunami flooding into the restaurant, busiest day I have had in my life only equalled by St Stephens Day at the Restaurant. This day was made more busy by fact that the Prots had blown an Angel off the O'Connoll Monument outside the Cafe in the early hours which also wrecked the cafe a bit, requiring us to clean up before work proper. Yes! exciting times, of which I will write more on in aforementioned AWNM&S blog, suffice to conclude by just commenting, that even though it sounds good to call for St David's Day to be made a National Holiday, really it would not be an holiday for everyone, would it. Shop and Restaurant and other workers would still be working and everyone else would be visiting the local retail therapy parks spending! spending! spending! and getting in to more debt with their ''plastic''. How many would celebrate Dydd Dewi very few, unless they were very well organised Dydd Dewi Day events, activities and parades as in Abertawe and Colwyn Bay, this would require that not only schools got involved but community and cultural groups also. So back to the drawing board on any annual St David's Day Public Holiday and National Celebrations!!!

This will be my last post prior to a very long ''Easter Break'', in fact I will not be back to posting untill about mid Ebrill, and so a few comments before I go off and away on a walkabout and whatever? Some advance notification of post material to come, and the best is yet to come, loads more exciting stuff, cracking down on 'Crachach' as per usual, not forgetting ''Devolution Dupes'' and ''Good Ole Boys'' et al but I shall be avoiding repeating myself wit

An example for our times, so down the line, I shall not prattle on so much about an Adfywiad Gwladgarol, or that which is overtly political. Have just about said all I can say to stirr you all up on issue of 'SOFRANIAETH', you know what they say don't you? ''You can take an horse to water but you cannot make it drink'' . So, Sofraniaeth is now very much up to you ok? I hope in a few years time that I do not have to say, ''I told you so!'' . It's possible too, that I have said and done all I can about Cymric Consciousness Campaigning, that activelly such is best now left with Balchder Cymru perhaps? In this Antur Gadarn connection, lets take a little peak at the Arts & Crafts Movement. I include information on Ashbee's Cottswold Initiative with also in mind great days down there camping with the kids picking strawberries, their strawberry ''Days of Wrath'', preferrable to my potato picking days of wrath. Quite interesting time, camping rough and meeting people from all over the world, and oh yes lots of police driving about the Cotswold lanes to make sure, the not quite so ''Wretched of the Earth'' were not going to ''knock off'' posh peoples houses? Believe, this and I am talking 1970's, a number of Cotswold pubs would put up signs stating 'FRUIT PICKERS NOT WANTED IN HERE'. Unbelievable, seeing as if it were not for the inward coming Fruit Pickers, the strawberries would have rotted in the fields and the region lost a lot of money. In those days, for most part pickers were students or young people travelling the World, yes! all a bit ''Grapes of Wrath'', well a little bit. Going off the point a bit, once whilst working in a London catering job, I met a fella from Kent who told me, that is Dad would tell him about Welsh Miners arriving in Kent during the depression. They would set up tents and whole families go off Hop picking, some of the men would take on Kent men in 'Bare Knuckle Fights' for money, so my informant told me, an interesting piece of social history one picks up along the way. Anyway, where was I , oh yes! Arts & Crafs Movement, it was Toni Lewis who brought me up to speed on all this, Toni being a Silver Smith and living in Mannin for many years became aware of Archibald Knox responsible for the Celtic Contribution to the Arts & Crafts Movement, see below links.

The Masters of the Universe in their European Empire conspired to ignore the Sovereignty of Yugoslavia with Germany leading the way in recognition of Slovenia. As Nationalists we might have some sympathy with Slovenia and Croatia but Bosnia and Kosovo is another matter. Why am I having to Agit - Prop on these matters all the time, where are the ''Balchder Boyos'' and not least these so called ''Young Republicans''.
