ST DAVID's DAY 2008. Rising Up Our Patriotc Flags.

.
Rali Cilmeri only seems like yesterday, with the 2007 Marching Season at an end and already another begins with the fourthcoming Dydd Dewi parade in Caerdydd. Of course. I say ''Marching Season'' with tounge in cheek as one hardly sees all that many marches in Wales, certainly not for Welsh Sovereignty and Independence. Although I do my best to encourage such over at SOFRANIAETH http://sofraniaeth.blogspot.com/ but it seems that unlike the Irish and Scots et al, we would rather Blog ourselves into a closet?
.
Anyway, whatever? I have in the past moaned a lot about the Dydd Dewi Parade in Caerdydd, or rather my criticism has really been aimed at certain ''Devolution Dilettantes'' who organise this Cardiff ''Welsh Experience'' not completly for ultratruistic reasons, why else their ''Message of Treachery'' (as far as I am concerned) to the Assembly last year. However, I reserve my real criticism for certain Patriots, or should that be 'PRATriots', who do little but Pose & Posture as really Radical Nationalists (Old & New) at the Cilmeri Rally but then change into more moderate shirts to parade with ''Tartan Taffs'' in Caerdydd on Dydd Dewi. I would not mind so much, if they were up for some real Struggle for Welsh Sovereignty and Independence in between these two parading events, and indeed made more radical nationalist contribution and gesture to the Dewi Parade. But such have not the wit or wisdom, nor the Patriotic savvy to consider how let alone the courage of principled patriotic conviction to so contribute and participate as RADICAL NATIONALISTS, by this I mean in such way as to identify a real Political Patriotic Presence rather than meander along rather aimlessly following Pied Pipers of posturing patriotism.
.
Thankfully, there are a great number of Patriots who do have the Patriotic Savvy, to carry Baneri Glyndwr, to ensure the premier true NATIONAList Flag of Cymru/Wales is seen aplenty and as much as possible to the fore of any march or parade. I am not favourable to this flag being behind any other Welsh Flag be it Baner Dewi or Draig Goch. However, little can be done about that but Patriots can make sure that they give priority to carrying of as many 'Baneri Glyndwr' as is possible. There can never be too many 'Baneri Glyndwr', as this certainly does colourfully and dynamically make a statement and send out a more nationalist message than the Yellow 'Anglican' Cross of Saint David or even Y Draig Goch now flown by Welsh Regiments in the British Army, not least in Iraq?

If you have read my previous posts you will also be aware I am not particularly overwealmed by the annual ''Cambrianista'' (see http://cofcenedl.blogspot.com/ )
Dewi Day Parading in Caerdydd along with it's associated ''Tartan Taffery''. However, this year I am going to lighten up a little, no I am not getting soft but It's been pointed out to me that this years Cardiff Dewi Day Parade is on a Saturday and that there is a good chance of many thousands attending. It then having been pointed out to me that this would be a good occaision to advance the cause of Welsh Independence, I have already commented on this in a previous post and suggested that really it would be rather too blatantly opportunist to pull off a Socialist Worker type of take over of someone elses event by means of slotting in activists carrying a verity of Political placards and banners. Instead I have suggested to patriots it would be good opportunity to at least hand out pro Welsh Independence leaflets to those participating in the parade and to people watching the parade pass by on it's way from Mochyn Ddu to steps of National Museum of Wales. However, who will produce the leaflets or rather simple A5 Handbills would suffice, c'mon all you Independence Bloggers get your act together and fund such useful material to make the most of this Dydd Dewi Parade in Caerdydd this year.
.
Further, note, the Celtic Cross (Gold on Purple) above was made by 'Adfywiadwr Gwaladgarol' Toni Lewis RIP, it's certainly an improvement on the accepted 1922 ''Anglican'' Dewi Cross flag of Yellow Cross on Black field. This flag is used now by one and all as a moderate general patriotic gesture, as much as flying Y Draig Goch, it thus makes no particular real Nationalist Statement as does the flying of Baneri Glyndwr or alternatvilly and there is and always should be a Nationalist Alternative (see my AWNM&S HIST ARCHIVE blog at http://awnms.blogspot.com/) , in such case I would suggest you make a Celtic Cross version of Baner Dewi, the bigger the better. See illustration below.

.
Other more Radical versions may be seen opposite and below, if your up to a bit of work, the following look colourfully dynamic with use of Black and Red being Nationalistically Symbolic of Remembering our Patriotic Dead and in Mourning for the loss of our National Independence. An 'Adfywiadwr Gwladgarol' does not miss any opportunity for some useful AGIT - PROP, especially if it catches the cameras of the media. That's just how the SWP does it and you Welsh Patriots need to catch up on this and all the more organising and preparing for events, rather than just looking forward to another opportunity for a pint with the ''Good Ole Boys'' and their ''Tall Tales''.
