WALES TO WELCOME WILLIAM WALES?

.
Before I go into a rant about that 'I' word, let me telly you something about this post card below. Now it's not just any post card but more a genuine 1911 post card and what is more you will just love the 1911 message on the back which you can read after my rant below.
.

What with all the F&B about the the younger Prince Harry, you might have all missed out on the news that William Wales, your very own next English Prince of Wales is soon to be dispatched to Ynys Mon. There not so far from Aberffraw Chief Royal Court of Cymru he is to be stationed at Valley to learn the service of Mountain/Sea Rescue as Helicopter Pilot with the Royal Air Force, all rather timely perhaps?
.
Whatever, all very opportune to make him self really well known to the natives who no doubt will in time be beamed pictures into their homes of William Wales saving some hapless daft ill equipped walker up on Eryri
. No doubt in time William Wales will be treated to some spectacular Taffy Forelock Tugging by the local establishment and assorted Crachach, possibly led by Lord Wiggley along with his D-in-L to entertain on the harp.
.
Then without a shadow of doubt William Wales at behest of Stage Managers of the next Investiture will be enticed to visit the Royal Town of Caernarfon, and thus no doubt the English Crown will have it all in the bag, not least it seems because it's only this old Hwntw that is really bothered by it all and bothering to kick up a storm of protest, whilst of course most other Patriots are quite happy to stick their heads where the Sun does not shine or possibly sit on the fence until s
ome other 'Bravehearts' decide to cross the line.
.
Why do I bother? after all what can a solitary 'Hwntw' do that a couple of 'Gog's cannot do better, so I will sit this one out and let the Gwladgadwyr Gwynedd take on the next English Prince of Wales, soon to be on their door step in their Cymric Heartland. For f**K sake! please spare us any appeals for William Wales to learn Cymraeg whilst he's on Ynys Mon, instead I suggest just think up ways to tell him to F***K OFF!!!
.
Can you manage to read what is on the back of the card, the Father of Master C.L. Owen spent the day at the 1911 Investiture in Caernarfon and thoroughly enjoyed himself by all account. No, I am not a collector of all things Investiture but just cannot resist such historical ephemera when it comes my way as the other day some Biafran Bank notes spotted in an Oxfam shop. Does all this make me an 'Anorak?', actually the Post Card was given to me by a person who had bought a fantastic collection of early 20th century postcards. All contained in an album of an Aberystwyth 'Crachach' family who spent a lot of time travelling Europe and the British Empire at it's height, if time allows I shall have to research this as an interesting piece of history of times gone bye, not far off from WWI and the death of 'Mam Cymru' in European mud.
.
Yours Waywardly.

Gethin.
