Cofia 1284 and the end of the Welsh World is about to reach it's rotten conclusion, beginning at Rhuddlan on the 19th March of that year. Edward I has arrived to hold a Parliament that will produce with Welsh Traitor help a kind of 'Vichy' style statement as to how it will be hence, this is known to history as The Statutes of Rhuddlan that establishes a 'Vichy Style' Quisling 'Collaborationist Colony' in Pura Wallia.

There is a plaque on a building in Rhuddlan that declares more or less that Edward I kind of Liberated the Welsh and give them a sort of Independence, I will explain this confidence trick to you some time but suffice to say it was only possible because of Welsh treachery, greed and stupidity. Does that sound familiar? I believe there is a figure in stone above the gateway into the Castle which is said to be a representation of Edward I English Conquoror of the last remaining free Principality of Cymru.

All of which reminds me of Devolution and the 'Coalitionist Conspiracy' that denies true Democracy to Wales. Whilst annually now, we have the 'Cambrianistas' leading you by the nose down to the 'Palace of Malice' to grovel to the Lord Protector Dafydd Ellis Thomas. Last years grovel must have gone down well with the 'Colonial Coalitionists' as the 'Cambrianistas' are now well in bed with them and no doubt getting some dosh for their pains, why didn't I think of this 40 years ago by now I could be really doing well. S***! I didn't even learn to write poetry, anyway, where was I? How is that for cynicism Cris?

Oh yes at Rhuddlan, from which Edward moves on to Conwy where he his joined by Eleanor, as they say 'heavy with child'. By April Edward is at Caernarfon and over the moon with the speedy way that is brand new castle is coming along. On 25th April Eleanor had a boy child who we all know becomes Edward II of Caernarfon, that is he who becomes ''Gay Edward'' and as sad consequence is to suffer a most awful death, after being handed over to his own English enemies. But that's some time off.

At this moment in time, it is said he. Edward junior is presented to 'Y Cymry' as a non - English speaker, and that is supposed to go down well with the Gwynedd locals. But I doubt if 'Gogs' could be that easily fooled? Hang on! there has been two Investitures held in Caernarfon, in the same century, so maybe ''Gogs' can be fooled? Whatever, we shall see this summer when Carlo and Son call in at Castell Caernarfon for a Boney Brit Banquet, I wonder if Protesting Patriots will outnumber the ''Uncle Taffy'' guests invited to the Brit Banquet, we shall see? Not long to go and still no sign of anyone going beyond pathetic petitions and organising a suitable protest Demonstration, why the hell is this 'Hwntw' bothering? why should I give a 'Taffy Toss', it should not be my problem really!

Back to the history of long ago, for most of June Edward was tramping around looking for 'Arthurian Souvenirs' and robbing us of our national treasures as 'Y Groes Naid'. In between he was camped out near Lyn Cwm Delyn, sounds an ideal Patriotic 'Yma o Hyd' picnic place too me? On 1st Awst he began his week long victory celebrations at Nefyn, why Nefyn? evidently the prophecies of Merlin were found there? Edward I then spent the rest of August checking out Pen Llyn, by the 13 Awst Edward I was back at Caernarfon and by the 23 August was heading back to England. It was on the same day that Edward learnt his other son Alfonso had died some what darkening the good mood he had been in following the Victory celebrations at Nefyn, how sad!

So plenty for you to read up on, and do make effort to visit Castell Rhuddlan on 19 March or maybe later in the summer, or maybe on way to Castell Caernarfon after being to Abergele to pay your respects to 'Our Patriot Dead' on 1st or 4th July. Possibly seriously consider an 'Yma o Hyd' Patriots Picnic on Edwards field in Nefyn on 1st Awst 2009, I have suggested an 'Yma o Hyd' Patriots Rally is held in Nefyn with Patriotic March to Edward's Field concluding with a Gwyl Yma o Hyd at Tafarn Cynan under the impressive Garn Boduon. Great if such could become an annual Gwynedd Patriotic event, see previous blog postings on this subject via a search on the web re Edwards Field.
