However, it's never too late for a mighty stroke of Patriotic fanaticism to hit a Bard in the Brain, to spark up some real fiery words, as lets forget the poetry and the petitions and get down to some really radical protesting. Indeed by 2011, if the BAB's get busy by 2011 they could possibly repeat the below 'sacrifice' on the Dais of Domination inside Caernarfon Castle. Undoing the shame of Overton where in 1284, rather than 500 Welsh Bards dieing for the Cymric Cause, 1000 Welsh Bards could not grovel to Edward I quick enough to ensure they were kept in crumbs from the conquerors table.

. Do you know the root of the word poet - is from the Greek and it means 'GIVE ME!' yes! sure sums them up. Myself in these times of 'Credit Crunch' I don't think it is really correct for Poets to get grants. Me thinks! they should find their own private patronage or go busking for their bread and stop sponging off the rest of us. When I have chance I am going to research the ACW & WLB annual accounts to see just who gets what and how often, lets have some alround total tranparency, why not!

* Hywel Gwynfryn refused an MBE from the English Queen, truly a contemporary Welsh Hero who now stands sholder to shoulder with the brave as Carwyn James, the great Rugby Coach who also refused English Honours. Info from latest issue of Golwg, which believe it or not, along with Y Cymro i Regularly buy. Does anyone know of others who have refused, details please.
