Post Tudor Popular culture was in later times much done away with by the Methodist Revival in the 18th century, possibly as London's May Fair was becoming too associated with radicalism and the 'Radical Crowd' aka 'Politicized Mob'. For same reason Non Conformist Dissidents becoming post 1839 respectable Victorian Industrialists and Bourgeoise would require more organised forms of culture as Brass Bands and Choirs along with such Chapels and Eisteddfods, that became Cambro British Platforms:

Even today, this Cymric Culture remains safe and moderate much, if not nearly all 'Saxon Silver' grant funded and certainly non threatening, even less so than in the 'Sixties'. As I suspect the English Language Schools, not least Faith Schools are not so concerned other than a nod to Dewi Sant on Dydd Dewi, so even I have problems here but at end of the day would not chuck the 'Cymru Cymraeg' baby out with the bath water because of my radical politics.

My criticisms become more harsh higher up the food chain of Cymric/Welsh Culture, here much is a product as much a matter of profit as patriotism. What bothers me, is that as long as Cymric Culture is in this 'Brit Box' it will it ever burst out to be something else other than that which is profitable to 'Cymraeg businesses' and pacified not to threaten English Imperialism nor a challenge to post Industrial Neo - Colonialism? It is perhaps not suprizing that when the Irish led the revolt at Ballarat in Austrailia, it was a Welsh Preacher who cautioned against radical militant rebellion against the English Crown.

So what happened, largelly but not exclusivelly so in Southern Wales for much of the 19th Century as Welsh Rebellion was as much a Welsh Condition as Welsh Religion. Whatever, as I said untill something replace the safe and moderate 'Cymraeg Culture', then it's a baby we just got to keep in the bath even though it's being washed with the dirty water that's paid for by 'Saxon Silver'. Thus better this than nothing at all, but I long for the day when 'Cymry Cymraeg' culture can free itself from that Urdd Gonk Mentality and becomes again the culture of 'Clerwyr Glyndwr'. As for Welsh, that is English Speaking Welsh or Anglo - Welsh Culture, I shall have a go at this again as in this I will be entering an area I grew up in or rather it's popular culture representations. Here, I have to look at 'Anglicisation' and 'Acculturalisation'. Suffice to say for now this Culture high up in the food chain needs to for starters simply say STUFF SHAKESPEARE! as it's first step to free itself of English Cultural Imperialism and self induced Colonial mentality:
