Ironically it is the 'Descendents' of the Mercians who now are supporting Powys more so that the 'Descendents' of Gwynedd and Dehuebarth - Why is this? Long lasting medieval pettiness against Powys, a tradition long carried out by Gwynedd to undermine the Principality of Powys. Well it's time some one reminded you that in the war of 1282, despite Powys Wenwynwyn siding with Edward I, Powys Fadog sided with Llywelyn III and the heirs to that portion of devided Powys were killed by the English and Powys Fadog taken by Edward I.
