1066 FILM HAS GONE INTO PRODUCTION IN WALES with 2010 Release Date.

Thought I would do a check on this medieval Film IRONCLAD being made in mid Wales and at Valleywood, see WalesOnline for further details. Carrying on my explorations on medieval films being made and I came across 1066 - the movie now entering production in Wales for release in 1282, amazing 1066!

This year we have had at least three medieval films being made in Wales, the above two and Robin Hood and, still no Owain Glyndwr film although there are dozens of scripts doing the rounds with various big names attached to them. However, no joy so far on the Glyndwr front maybe it's just too big a subject? Which leads me to think that perhaps a 1282 film would stand a better chance of getting on the big screen, might give it a film treatment work over myself. Might as well give it a go whilst I have so much 1282 and all that stuff on the table for archiving and for research with Cofiwn's Cilmeri and other film footage on line for DVD production and release by 2011.

So anyone out there interested in backing a 1282 film get in touch, am quite serious about this so do not delay if interested as much pre production needs to be organised as well as doing a treatment. In the mean time check out the below on how 1066 film was put in place and advanced, I shall make a study of this too. Maybe the Cofiwn DVD could be way forward of advancing an interest in a big screen movie on a year in Welsh History comparable to 1066. Final word, about time Harold was given the big time heroic make over, why not after all compared to William and the Norman French, inc Richard the Lion Heart, he was quite the English hero as well as Warrior Wonderman!
