I tell you how, it's always been an House of Cards built on shifting sand! the powers that be have long been aware of the great earth quake about to bring their 'House' down, I mean the change over to digital TV was on cards for long time. However, long before this they must have been aware of other factors as decline in viewers, I suspected this as soon as Y Cymro stopped publishing viewing figures. Yet! the publication of viewing figures had from beginning been 'Ring Fenced' like much else concerning S4C, an agreement had been made that not all their programmes viewing figures were to be ever made publically known.

This was the covenant they made with the English Governments department responsible for funding S4C all these years as yes a Media Crach 'Client Tribe'. A covenant also made not just because of finnancing but also to protect S4C from Welsh/Native English Speakers ever having a say on how S4C was run. To protect them from in particular 'Red Neck Valley Hwntws'' like me, as one 'Gog' once informed me, bad 'Gog Paranoia' there and such a sign of non existant trust for a fellow country man!. The Cultural Nationalists had campaigned for a Cymraeg TV Service but what they got was a Cymraeg service also carrying E.L usually 'Rubbish C4 Programming. Rubbish accepted as Big Brother and what have you as that brought in the advertizing revenue, what worries me now that any future 'Teledu Cymru Cymraeg' will seek out further E.L rubbish to bring in the advertizing revenue at expense of us having more and better Welsh Interest E.L. programming. Welsh and Worried!!!!
In all that's now being discussed and ideas thrown about that option above must be killed off asap as a big NO! NO! Then the big YES! YES! is get shot of S4C, it is now a case of not only a failiure but has totally tarnished itself full stop! To keep it in existence will mean the majority of people willl think there is some thing very 'funny going on' and more back room deals are being made with out fit and proper public inclusiveness annd involvement in a democratic process of decision making. Already I see all the Political Parties in Wales pandering to the Plant Crachach Campaign in saying they support the saving of selfish 'Shameless S4C skins', better think again as Labour and Plaid now are at last, sensibly so to a degree! Yes get rid of S4C full stop but any 'New Authourity' needs a rigourous looking into, myself I think the idea of OFcom taking over on a temporary basis is sound and fast best to put S4C out of it's misary.

However, before any new authority is set up we need the below taken aboard in full open discussion.
1: Myself prefers the idea of a National Public Service community based with room for input by proffessional companies and by communities to, a service that is both in Cymraeg and in Welsh/E.L. In main a service that as Cymru/Wales themed programmes in Cymraeg and Welsh/E.L. Plus contributions from other minority nations and documentaries from countries other than the Anglo - America World Media Empire. Maybe links to Education, Colleges and Schools plus the Arts etc could make such NPS become very watchable. Foreign News Networks could help finnancially and I am not opposed to advertizing or our own home produced popular Television as Game Shows or whatever. This would be a single dedicated Welsh National Channel, I am sure many would give their main loyalty to at all times.
2: Alternativelly, I would go along with a 'New Authority' on provision that much of above will be taken aboard plus any new 'Teledu Cymraeg' is taken out of Cardiff and based in Rural Cymru/Wales. Perhaps in Buith Wells, as given that the National Eisteddfod needs to get to grip with fact that it's travelling days are coming to en end too, smell the coffee! Thus base that in Buith Wells too and, along with the National Welsh Agricultural Show already based there I see the foundations of a 'Cymric Brasilia' being built, think about it and why not? To which many Welsh Govermental departments could be also re homed. I see this grand design as helping to unify our Country more than much put forward plus focus more on a national transport system that links all of Wales via Builth Wells before Powys becomes a 'SaisKossovo', if you get my drift!
3: My main concern is the failiure in the past to produce a wide verity of English Language interest themed programming, letters are starting to appear in Western Mail seeking such but I have yet to see any Welsh Politician or News Paper take up this cause. That annoys me as much as S4C who have for most of it's existence generally ignored the Native Welsh -English Speaking Population of Wales, now falls over itself to get the Welsh/E.L population to watch S4C, not least it's flagship Pobl y Cwm. That's really rich and I find quite cynical and thus insulting, to say the least, because I fancy they are in the main seeking desperatly to boost viewing figures fast at any cost. Someone of authority please tell me that if BBC Wales must fund 'Teledu Cymraeg' programmes, does it mean that there is no possibilty of expanding Welsh/E.L programmes as I have suggested here and in previous posts. If I this is the case then just maybe Welsh/E.L. viewers should stop paying their T.V. Licences and engage in a Direct Action Campaign for a proper 'Welsh Television Service' in the medium of the English Language.

Whatever, all this is S4C shinnanigins just might be a Tory ploy to distract us and divert our attention from fact that our Country is to be Cut up by the Tories and Carved up by Cheque Book Conquest and the New Colonisation. So please, resolve these matters asap, by the 4th December 2019. Not least so Plant Crachach can be put at ease plus making it clear to the 'Children of Continuing Non Revolutionary Cultural Revolution', that they had their day and dictated terms before but now, no way! I suggest before they go on knocking their heads against the wall of reality regards the now, almost certain impossibility of 'Saving the Skin of ShamelessS4C'. That they first consider the central question did this failed 'Teledu Cymraeg' experiment actually do much to sustain 'Yr Hen Iaith?' Taking aboard research that shows their Cymraeg Speaking' youth has no time for 'Cymraeg' on the TV, Radio, PC or Mobile Phone. Not least few even use 'Bilingual Services' or reads 'Bilingual adverts' which must really provide the Western Mail with a tidy sum?

Ignore this at your peril and posterity will curse you for not making the correct decisions at this time to embark on challenge to sustain 'Yr Hen Iaith'.
