. .
News Cutting below is from the Wales on Sunday news paper, BBC & S4C TV Sunday News briefly reported but give more attention to old footage of 1969 Investiture, complaints by local liberal and coverage regards the daughter of George Taylor not wishing her father to be known as a Patriotic Martyr. So, all in all given the fact that Adam Phillips BC's ''Republican Organiser'' of the event also ended up making an agreement not for any rememberance activity to take place at the grave of George Taylor, was this actually the big success it should have been? , Add to this fact that news film footage give a great deal of attention to an Irish Republican Band form Liverpool, I have no problem with that really but why wasn't the Cambria Band not up front as they usually are at events and not as it appeared on the TV news lost amongst the crowd? Surely they should have been complete with their usual smart display of our own 'Welsh Colours', Baneri Glyndwr and Llywelyn and White Eagle Flags etc? but with out the 'Tartan Taff' Kilts of course.
.
.
.Whatever, I am not going to be too critical of yesterday's Abergele Commemoration organised by Adam BC, as really I think the burden should have been on Patriots John Jenkins and Owain Williams former leaders of Mudiad Amdiffyn Cymru to have called a meeting of 60's MAC & FWA Vetrans along with other 'Adfywiadwyr Gwaldgarol' of the ''Sixties Struggle'' to a meeting as earlier as last year to consider plans for the 40th anniversary commemoration. It is such a body of ''Old Comrades'' in such a meeting that should have then assumed responsibility for setting up of a NATIONAL ABERGELE MARTYRS 1969 - 2009 40th ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATION COMMITTEE and not this BC/Cymru 1400 Crew etc (and it is this etc bit that concerns and worries me, to say the least inc such as associated FWA Apreciation Societies run by this crew?) - a real unknown quantity if ever there was one.
.
.I cannot begin to understand what possessed Owen Williams and John Jenkins to go with the BC flow on this and ignore ''old comrades'', this was a big mistake that did very little to make this 40th Anniversay a real major national event which would have been held on 4th July not 27th just to pull off some feeble protest against Armed Forces Day. A real major national commemoration would have included a Black Flag Motorcade to Caernarfon via Castell Rhuddlen for an evening ceremony at Gate of the Castle with placing of wreaths and Ivy Crosses, sadly all that was really long term achieved at last Saturday's Abergele Commemoration was but of short lived purpose and of no great potential to inspire continuation of any real Patriotic Struggle. For reason that BC just does not have a clue, or otherwise refrain from really getting themselves engaged in such, instead of poncing around at Rali Cilmeri and the 'Cambrianistas' Dewi Day Parade in Caerdydd. Oh yes, as well I have yet to understand why a Corwen lad as Adam gets the location wrong for any annual 'Dydd Glyndwr Day' 16 Medi National Commemoration and preferrs to march about in Machynlleth on 16 Medi and not Corwen??? Unless of course again it's a diversion which they appear to be pretty good at? as well as make it so 'set up' for the police to take fotos of patriots maybe, that's why there is such an emphasis on a Militant Struggle of 40 years ago? Whilst they do not equally appear to be so up for their own radical nationalist struggle today.
..
. .
As for Owen Williams and John Jenkins, two patriots I have always greatly admired and worked with over the years in the Patriotic Front and Cofiwn, all they managed to do was as certain ''Good Ole Boys'' just go and give credibility to a small grouplet going by the big name of 'Balchder Cymru' who do not really deserve the credibility they crave. But which gives them some undeserved ''Extreme'' or ''Republican'' 'Street Cred', and which allows them to flaunt their rather shallow Patriotic Purpose as far afield as Scotland and Ireland.
.
.
Personally, I am of the belief, that Adam Phillips and other leaders of BC along with other 'Balchder Boyos' should redeem themselves on Wednesday 1st July 2009 at the Gate of Caernarfon Castle but then please 'Call it a Day' as your holding up the advance (as Cymuned is too) of Wales ever getting together a real radical patriotically purposefull MOVEMENT AGAINST COLONIALISM (see my recent post on Adfywiad Gwladgarol blog). But first, there is the matter how best to remember 1 July 1969 in Caernarfon this Wednesday, personally I would have liked to have organised a Storming of the Castle and closed it down for the day, but that is not an option really. However, keep it in mind for 2011 and 2014 and 2019, the latter being Carlo's favoured option for an Investiture Anniversary celebration? Me thinks we might have INVESTITURE III before then unless Welsh Patriots get more radical about all this and PROTEST NOT PETITION OK!
.
.
. Starting in Caernarfon on Wednesday with perhaps an all day Passive Patriots Protest Picket Against English Princes of Wales, leaving 'Ivy Protest Posies (as above) and Crosses' (as below) at Gate of Castle.
. .
. .There after, John Jenkins could redeem himself in my eyes by becaming a major Political Leader of a new Welsh Freedom Movement, as it is J.J. above all others who has the best political radical nationalist thinking. Although, I am not ignoring Owen Williams in this, but he has been politically active down the years, I wish Niel ap Siencyn had been more political as well as with out doubt he could have been another all time great 'Alternative Nationalist Political Leader', all three now mostly lost as 'National Political Leaders'. As for my old mate 'Nawie' , he could redeem himself in my eyes by prompting organising of a major 'Yma o Hyd' Festival in Nefyn on the first of August, traditionaly LUGHNASADHA - an annual Celtic Fire Festival. Do note in this connection that on this day it used to be the tradition to walk up to Mountain tops, so great opportunity to walk up GARN BODUON (google info on web) near Nefyn. This mountain looks down on Edward's Field, so great opportunity to get atop and fly as many of our Welsh Flags of Freedom as his possible, any one up for doing this? not least 'Gwladgarwyr Gwynedd'. Of course it was near to Nefyn that the first 'Holiday Cottage' was burnt down so launching the highly successful 'Arson War' of Meibion Glyndwr (MAC II?).
.
..
You might have thought that I have gone off track in this post but no, I have not for I am trying my very best to get the message across that for true Radicals, Republicans and Revolutionaries the day that commemorations become an end in themselves, then the truth is that it is 'THE END' of your struggle, get it? FIN! I will remind of the best at Commemorating was Cofiwn, and the greatest of Commemorations was what they carried out in 1982. Cofia 1282 and all that! But Cofiwn did not leave it at that, they in 1983 launched a major campaign against the WTB Festival of Castles Celebration of the building of Edward I's Castles in 1282. So, do look at 1st July 2009 at the Gate of Caernarfon Castle, not as 'THE END' but as opportunity of occaision to begin a renewed and reinvigourated struggle with most immediate priority attention being for the rest of this year on >
.
..To return to our most immediate Priorities, do not forget to light and burn two candles through the night of 3o June to 1 July (annually hence) in memory of the two patriotic Martyrs, if you have not ever attended any Abergele Martyrs Commemoration and placed tributes to their memories then do so at any time over the month of 'Black July'. Other than this you may place tributes in their memory at the Gate of Caernarfon Castle, and also note Patriots may place tributes at the Abergele Memorial near Glyndenys, Silian. There also and at the Guild Hall in Swansea, site of the Court House where the nine FWA & PF Anti Investiture Campaign Organisers were tried and three sentenced at 3:00 pm on 1st July 1969. Tributes are being placed there in memory of the five ''Old Comrades'' who have since passed away; Vivian Davies and Dai Bonner Thomas, Cayo Evans and Denis Coslett also Toni Lewis at time President of the Patriotic Front.
.
.
Well that's it for now, look out for tomorrows post, one day to go to 'I-DAY' 40th Anniversary.
.
Now do not just read this, think about, but most importantly do something about it! That is the way a cause is carried out and a struggle won, so whatever JUST DO IT! Let the struggle continue?
.
After thought: If only Adam would pack up this pretense of ''Welsh Republicanism'' and stop wishing he had been a ''Sixties Struggle'' Freedom Fighter. I actually think that Adam et al who lead BC have huge patriotic potential to build, advance and direct a truelly signifigant new MUDIAD ADFYWIAD GWLADGAROL. But such I advise after fashion of the American Indian Movement and the Mexican - American 'Barrio Warrios' .with a touch of Cofiwn's Anti - Cerebral Colonialism Campaigning. This whole ''Sixties Struggle'' fascination that grips BC really needs, not to be forgotten but at least put on the shelf, in favour of something more up to date and thus radically relevant to the present as example of a proposed 'SHOVE OF SHAKESPEARE CAMPAIGN!
Adfywiadwr Gethin.
