I believe that on the coming Monday 26th September Llanwddyn Council have a meeting to discuss the Vyrnwy Land Grab, they may post up info on web as to the 'State of Play' other wise if interested contact the council directly yourselves. I am holding off my protest action untill I have more information, as I can only aford in terms of money and time just one more outing to Vyrnwy this year. The Vyrnwy Issue is in main a Language, Land & Liberty Campaign area for largelly rural 'Cultural Nationalist' radicals to be concerned with which they do not appear to be thus far all that bothered about?
In the South there are also Land & Liberty Issues concerning Open Casts and Wind Mills, not least regards Mynydd y Gwair Wind Mill Plantation, a decision will be made one way or another this Autumn by Swansea Council, perhaps next month then no doubt a battle may have to be fought on Mynydd y Gwair as well as possibly in and around the Vyrnwy Estate. I would have to give my support more to theformer as per costs, time and lifts to the location if requiring a continuing regular campaigning contribution.
BBC News - Inquiry into Mynydd y Gwair wind farm due to end
6 Aug 2010 ... Final submissions are to be made to an inquiry into plans to build a 19 turbine wind farm on common land in Swansea.

Before I go on to focusing on Welsh History Month, I will draw your attention to Octobers Black History Month which I have already posted up information on previously. My attention recently has been drawn to a raging arguement in England by those for and against BHM and it's not split on Race/Ethnic lines as you will hear from a BBC Bristol Radio Programme I have been listening to this morning BBC Radio 4. Black History Month and the Usual Suspects. Note it will be repeated again and of course you can listen too direct from your PC, there are a number of arguements for and against by a number of people and bodies. It's very interesting and worth while listening to, so do OK!

Myself, I would still support BHM as it does reflect the Black History Experience in Wales as well as England, I also consider it better than Welsh History Month in so far that it is not just Academic/Educational and informative but also commemorates and celebrates. From what I see of Welsh History Month so far it is the usual 'Academic Educational Exercise' in main for proffessionals and teachers, it will no doubt be a great saving from all the TV stuff the kids get on English Monarchs as Elizabeth and Victoria, WWI & II plus Hitler! Hitler! Hitler! Teachers today, I fear just tell the kids go watch the History Channel and 'Yesterday' or whatever? However, Welsh History Month compared to Black History Month is otherwise quite pathetic, just go and compare via the web. Go on 'Google' both you will be lucky to see WHM come up with one Menu page whilst BHM comes up on menu pages over and over and over, I gave up on Google Menu Page 10.

One of the arguements levelled against BHM is that it's politically motivated by 'Usual Suspects', wish we had some clearly 'Welsh Nationalist Usual Suspects' behind WHM as there are 'Black Nationalists' behind BHM. Of course we do have plenty of 'Usual Suspects' when it comes to 'Yr Iaith', 'Cultural Nationalism', 'Pacifism' and most things 'Left' are acceptable particularly the 'Spanish Civil War' but then that's alright with me. I mean the 'Left Stuff', not the 'Cultural Nationalism', as far as I am concerned we need some fresh radical reflection and revision there, not least regards Rebecca and the Blue Books of 1848 - 'Welsh Not' and all that! Both our 'Usual Suspects' of 'Intellectual left' and 'Rural Cultural Right' are on the same team establishment when it comes to being none too sympathetic to rebels as Lewis Lewis and Edward Morgan and on to Owen Williams and John Jenkins of Mudiad Amdiffyn Cymru and the 'Sixties' Adfywiad Gwladgarol against the Investiture. Both 'Establishments' are hell bent on censoring and white washing this Welsh Revolutionary stuff out of history altogether. So you will have to make do with:

There is only one problem I got with BHM
and it's
not so much with that in
itself but
if
we are to have
a
BHM why not an Irish,
Italian or in time Welsh
Asian/Muslim History
and Welsh Israeli/Jewish Months
and even
an 'English
in Wales History
Wales Month'.
Thankfully the Flemish have fully integrated
or other
wise we would
have to consider a
Flemish History Month
.
Even BHM
has had to
realise that
'Political/Cultural
Correctness
can
cuts both ways and
thus BHM now also
recognises Asian and Chinese
British histories.
Perhaps
all this can be made
one big 'Immigrants
History Month
Wales', why not?
thinking
this thru,
the Irish
have St
Patricks day of course but what
about
other
immigrants?
Done a web
search on
this and came up with a 'Tower
of
Babylon' of
Immigrants to Wales, so will
do
a seperate
post on this subject.
Suffice
for now to view

The main differences I want to point out
regards
WHM
is how it is so
little
supported within the
community and
by businesses, indeed the
whole
Welsh Language Industry
plus Arts/Cultural Scene
could
have been involved in a truelly
exciting Welsh
History Month. Not just
Academic and Educational
but Commemorative and Celebrative, why
not?
To scary? might
queer your pitch grant wise? Go on
get brave,
get off the fence
and come up to the line
and cross over in an act of
Couragous
Commitment to
some real radical 'Cymric Consciousness'
as BHM
and promotion of Black Nationalist Consciousness, yes!
Now
Patriots here's the way we go about it, read below
and just
get
your
act together ok! BeforeI say good by to
'Welsh Remembrancer'
I will
custom design how hence
annually Wales can really go big
time on a
for radically
real September Welsh History Month, main
thing is you
move fast to go get organised in advance to grab grants
well before
our Cultural 'Usual Suspects' do, yes! So stand
by your
beds,
there
will be no laying down and going to
sleep on this one
and forget Rali
Cilmeri , that's way past
it's
'Use by Date'. Hence you
will be playing
for higher
stakes
than fooling around in Patriotic Fringe
