....Just thought I would slip that reminder in, to remind that come the 1st November I shall be closing down on Welsh Remembrancer blog also other of my more Nationalist blogs as; The Welsh Patriot (Republican), Adfywiad Gwladgarol (Cymric Consciousness), Cofiwn (history) and Alternative Welsh Nationalist Archive (Contemorary History) as well some other blogs. This is to enable me to start archiving material for libraries and use material for book publication, the close down will not be over night but will take some time. What it means, is that I will not be focusing hence on these blogs for reason stated also because I want to focus on 'Going Left' blogs and some 'Gwaith Cofiwn Goch', see below for further information on this. At same time I want to get into a creative area blogs as per Assyrian Rod - Alternate/Parallel History, Tan y Bont - Gothic Cymru, Paganiaidd Cymru - Druid Revival and a Celtic 'Brigga' as Cymric alternative to the Saxon 'Wicca' plus not least Pwca Power blog will go from stregnth to stregnth with some totally O.T.T. madness peculier to my mind. Politically, if 'ShamelessS4C' does not take it's cuts as it should, then I am afraid my Llais Glywysing blog will have to get Seriouly Silurian Sepratists and seek Succession and it's own Independent Sovereign State in a Blaenau Morgannwg Fawr. This Silurian State will stretch from Brecon to Bontfaen and from the Severn to the Afon Llwchwr. The E.U. 'City States' of Newport, Cardiff and Swansea are not considred as part of 'Siluria Newydd'. You think I am joking? wait and see!
Whatever, if you have come across this blog for first time and are unaware of my other blogs, don't worry you still have time to go and view as I doubt very much if I will be closing down any blogs this side of New Year 2011 which reminds me Celtic New Year is on the way, so get ready to 'kick in' your celebrations as from Nos Galan Gaeaf 31 Hydref. Big news this month is that the Western Mail is kicking off a September Welsh History Month, note first called for by Sian Ifan of Embassy Glyndwr in 2006. Of course whilst it's taken the Welsh Establishment all these years to catch up on what Cofiwn was saying 40 years ago and acting upon from 1973 - 1983. Whatever, lets be thankfull for small and big 'mercies' and this is quite a big contribution to popularising Welsh History, so make most of it and work towards an annual continuation of September as a Welsh History Month.

On 18 September Owain Glyndwr and his small band of followers had ridden down from Caerdrewyn and were bearing down on Ruthin to enter upon the stage of history big time. The raid would contine around the towns of the north Eastern March and be waking up Oswestry on 22 September, continuing on to Welsh Pool to be then caught 'napping' on the Banks of the Vyrnwy on 24 September where Welsh Records recouts a 'massacre' took place.

I am reminded that Welsh People and not least Welsh Patriots are not very aware of the history of Jacobitism in Wales between 1715/6 and 1745/6. I shall add to this with some info on the 1715-17 Anti - Hanovarian Riots in Wrecsam 300th Anniversary in 2010, worthy perhaps of at least a Commemorative Conference on history of Jacobitism in Wales. The period up to 1745/6 witnessed major Social Protests as Corn Riots in Biwmaris in 1728 whilst in 1740 there were a number of Workers Riots in Pembroke, Rhuddlan and Wrecsam. Wrecsam in these times was very much a 'troublesome area' with troops being called in from Chester to put down riots. In 1745 a number of Welsh Jacobites went off to support 'Bonny Prince Charlie', one was later executed and some went on the run to become mercenaries or even pirates. In 1755 there were 'Jacobite Riots' in Carmarthen, as the century closed it was the workers who began to rise up as Cilgwyn Quarry men marching on Caernarfon to seize corn in 1758 and Ceredigion Lead Miners marched on Aberystwyth for same reason. Corn Riots were do dominate Wales between 1791 to 1801, such taking place in a great number of towns throughout Wales the 'Pitchfork of Revolt' was being risen up as 'Hunger' became issue of those years. - 7 visits - 15 SepFurther, coming up soon posts in my Red Remembrancer blog, I will continue on drawing attention to Wrecsam, I am doing this with next years Eisteddfod in mind as hopefully encouraging enthusiasts, this Eisteddfod in mind to step outside our usual 'Medieval Box' and as a number of Patriots in Fflintshire, not least Balchder Cymru are converting to Socialist Republicanism they and others might be interested in organising hence 'Welsh Socialist Commemorations' as regards the 'Battle of Cinder Hill' aka Battle of Rhosllanerchrurog 1830' it's the 180th Anniversary this year, anything done about that? This historical event and the Mold Riots 1868 strike me as excellent anniversaries for annual Welsh Socialist Commemorations. The 'Battle of Cinder Hill 1830' strikes me as a good 'Companion' to the Merthyr Rising 1831 and Mold Riots 1868 as companion to the Newport 1839 commemorations in the South. Plus note potential Radical Left Commemorations re Mynydd Sais Bach 1831 and Llanidloes 1839, that covers most of Wales accep Gwynedd? Possibly the 'Amlwch Disturbences' of 1817, 'Four Weeks of Lawlessness' caused by high food prices. Possibly these 'historic happenings' and commemorations of, will have more to say to us and teach us in these times than anything medieval? What do you think! I don't know why no one has suggested yet that any Poet, musician or whatever who has had grants for more than five years or more than £50.000 in grants, should be put out on the streets to busk! why not! So some one start checking out the ACW Annual Accounts, Academi Burseries and Welsh Language Industry Largess. As for 'Shamlesss4c' Saving 'Yr Hen Iaith' c'mon 'pull the other one', more like saved the asses of a largelly rural 'Surplus Petite Bourgeouise'. They are part of the problem not the solution, true! Why can't we devolve that failed enterprise and open devolved 'Cymraeg Cultural Community' TV in, the main 'Y Fro Cymraeg' areas producing programmes the rural audience really wants. Then stuff other 'Cymraeg Speakers' want, particularly learners is with sub titles programmed on a WELSH NATIONAL TELEVISION SERVICE taking Welsh Interest 'English Language' Programmes from BBC Wales and ITV Wales which then can more honestly 'just go 'Brits Are Us'. Noting that 'ShamlessS4C's' £100 Millions plus can be shared out as would other Welsh Licence payers money. I belive there are numerous countries in the world that run Community TV as noted above, plus consider that Scotland's Gaelic TV gets £13 Millions and it's audience is not much less that that of 'ShamlessS4C's' at a cost of £100 plus Millions. Playing on my mind of late, is a pretty big question/s, I have no doubts about my National Identity/Consciuosness as I am 'Welsh'. Not Anglo - Welsh, I hate that term as it's similar to such descriptions as Anglo - Irish which historically means your are Irish of English descent, like wise Anglo - Indian, American and Austrailian et al. Then what of Afro American and whilst in the past Welsh Italians and Welsh Irish was in common use, today most recent immigrants would describe them selves as 'Afro Brits', 'British Asians' or 'British Asians'. I suppose 'Cambro' might be a useful term for 'new immigrants' who wish to identify with Wales/Cymru. I myself do not consider myself as much a 'Cymro' as say some one from 'pura Wallia' who might be imbued in a 'Cymric Language/Culture', of course a number in pura Wallia would consider themselves as much 'Brits' as many in 'marcher Wallia'. Myself. I am happy to consider myself 'Welsh' and all native 'English Speakers' as such whilst 'Y Cymry' be those who consider themselves fully such on a language and cultural basis. So fourthcoming in The Welsh Patriot will be some 'Angst' about these matters of Identity and Consciousness along with the big questions, am I 'Anglicised' and am I 'Acculturalised' and indeed are you? even if you speak 'Cymraeg?' Start to consider:
