The sixth annual Liberation of Hope parade will be this Sunday -24th Feb We urge the people of Hope Caergwrle, Flintshire and Wales to join us and remember the Forces of Owain Glyndwr liberating the town from occupation forces on feb 22 1403 the day will start at 11am in Hope Parish church hall with a talk about the events and the history of Hope and lord of Hopedale Dafydd ap Gruffydd by Dave Healy. followed by live performances by Castell Alun school bands "rebel flux" and "intolerance". Michael Roberts of Milwr Glyndwr will have a display of the weapons of the period and internationally renowned Cambria band will perform a display and if time a drum workshop.In a change to the traditional route The main parade will go from Hope church car park 2pm up to Caergwrle castle and back through caergwrle to hope. ''There was a radio 4 phone in today and the dissatisfaction felt across the UK with the political system was very obvious, although some of the proposed solutions to it were a little strange. I want to get people to question the whole basis of the system, and although this is not strictly speaking a Welsh national question, I think that yet another opportunity is slipping away as the Assembly beds itself down in its nest in the corner of the patch of weeds cultivated by the British establishment as the UK state. Without addressing the issue of independance, Welsh politicians could have been struggling to set out a new foundation for government in Wales upon which we might have erected a new kind of legislative framework directed by more a more truly representative and accountable democracy. Instead, steeped in the practices of UK government, Welsh politicians of all parties, despite their protestations of divisions and differences, have maintained themselves as a tightly disciplined cohort that has defended the staus quo. Instead of a new innovation in governmental organisation, we have merely restored some of the powers that were stripped from local government by Thatcher and awarded them instead to the Welsh Assembly which has now proven itself to be nothing but an overblown 1970's county council with all of the old problems and several new ones thrown in for good measure. We have been fobbed off with the idea that we now have a national government, and unsurprisingly those who are obsessed with their Welsh nationality are very pleased by this, but those of us who are obsessed with how badly Wales is governed can only be angry with those who wrap themselves in the dragon flag of the pricipality as if it justified all that they have done.

Right on! David is of course dead right, that's more like it, the sort of stuff all real Radical Welsh Republicans need to be saying and then puting their words into REPUBLICAN ACTION by at least first signing a proposed Welsh Republican Covenant. Plus possibly this Saturday taking a visit to Abergwuan and Garreg Wasted to think and discuss these urgent matters. This perhaps is the priority for those who percieve of themselves as, and proclaim themselves to be WELSH REPUBLICANS? I cannot see how any true Welsh Republican could ever participate in an event, as the Caerdydd Dydd Dewi Parade that recognises the ASSEMBLY OF APPEASEMENT WITH ENGLISH IMPERIALISM, and certainly not stand around listening to that ENGLISH LORD DIC SION DAFYDD ELIS THOMAS without at least ''Booing the Bastard''.
