17 MARCH: THIS DAY IN HISTORY IS ST PATRICKS DAY BUT WHAT ELSE? THE KINGDOM OF ITALY IS PROCLAIMED IN TURIN and What About Garibaldi In Wales?


St Patrick aside for a moment to focus on 17 March and the Italian Connection, I thought there would be some Welsh Italian events here in Wales but I cannot find any on the web? Certainly, I would have hoped one of our Southern Universities might have organised something, not least because of the Garibaldi connection with Wales. Perhaps given Swansea link the Maritime Museum there should have organised something along with a Welsh celebration festival of Italian Unity/disunity, that would be interesting? Can anyone out there work on this idea, why not a Red Shirt day on the 4 July Garibald's Birthday. That should please Balchder Cymru, think I preferred them when they were in Red Shirts even though I am more a 'Mazzini Man' than a 'Cilmeri Garibaldi'?:
